ReQtest Dev-Day 2016 in Malmö
Over 20 people from 4 countries flew into Malmö for Dev-Day, ReQtest’s very own hacking extravaganza. Developers and marketing people from other cities in Sweden, Ukraine, England, and Malta took a break from the usual remote setup we use and enjoyed two or three spectacularly sunny days in each other’s company.
There was a lot to talk about, so we kicked off the day at 9.30 AM with the first series of workshops for front-end, back-end, and marketing.
The first two back-to-back sessions lasted until noon, right before everyone broke up for lunch.
In parallel with Dev-Day, our marketing team also spent most of the day talking strategy and brainstorming new ideas for our brand.
Meanwhile, next doors, the developers were either attending more workshop or else taking part in the day-long hackathon that took place at our offices.
Ulf Eriksson wrapped up the event by detailing ReQtest’s vision, and explaining the team’s roadmap for the future.
And as great as it is to work remotely, there’s nothing quite as inspiring as sitting in the same room with like-minded coworkers who are all motivated to do more.
But, wait, there’s more! After Dev-Day was officially in the books, the participants split up into smaller teams and competed in a general knowledge quiz in the streets of Malmö.
A special app created for the occasion used GPS coordinates to serve up questions when the teams reached certain spots. Besides being really fun, it was a cool way to experience the most interesting sights that Malmö has to offer in a limited amount of time.
Summer Break
Summer’s fast approaching and with temperatures ranging from 14°C in Stockholm to 30°C in Valletta, it’s nearly time for our team to wind down operations for the next month or so to recharge our batteries.
While you’ll still see the occasional post on our blog and continue to receive update from ReQtest if you’re subscribed to our newsletter, we will return to our regular schedule in early August.
