Fun Fridays – Tweeting Cake
How do you celebrate the fact that’s Friday and the weekend is nearly upon us?
With cake, of course!
But not any cake will do. For a software company like ReQtest something a bit more techy is in order and our ingenious frontend developer Tobias delivered just that. Proving that culinary skills mix well with high-tech, he baked ReQtest’s very first tweeting cake.
This tech infused chocolate flavoured treat graced our offices one fine Friday, giving all of us a much-needed boost at the end of a busy week.
We knew something was up when the yummy smell of cake wafted through the offices.
You can imagine the look of surprise on our faces when we saw Tobias carrying a cake with wires coming out of it like something created inside the lab of a crazy scientist!
After hooking up the cake to one of our devices, we got to see how it worked. Each time someone cut a slice, the cake noticed and automatically sent out a tweet about it.
And well, there you have it. A typical Friday at ReQtest… You never know what’s coming up next, but you can bet it’ll be something creative and innovative.
Anyone who’s interested in the source code (but not the recipe), that’s all on Github. And you can get the latest from the tweeting cake, or what’s left of it, right on Twitter, of course!
#tweeting_cake is served! @helentoomik must be celebrating something #awesome!

Speaking about experiments, we’ve got something in store for you! No, not free cake. Our team is busy collecting data from our beta testers to develop the new grid which will be rolled out soon on ReQtest.
Watch this space for more info as it becomes available and to get the latest ReQtest news as it breaks.
